Access to Information (a2i) Programme


Remotely Operated Online Astronomical Observatory is an innovation project of BAO (Bangladesh Astronomical Observatory) team, funded by service innovation fund (SIF), A2i. The aim of the project is to establish an astronomical observatory to provide the remote observation facility to the students, teachers, research workers and commoners of the country. The observatory can be accessed remotely via internet connection and physically attended in both ways. The sky observations can be shared in social media, mobile phone, android devices, i-pad, laptops and computers etc. The astronomical events can be live broadcasted through the social platforms.  Remotely controlled observatories have many advantages—the most obvious that the observer does not have to be physically present to carry out observations.
